Welcome, 2018!

January 3, 2018 · 7 Comments

2017 has been a complete whirlwind. I’ve had some major ups, and some pretty big downs as well. We got a new MacBook and I’ve started learning to code, I improved my makeup game (I think? … I hope!), I went to my first tech conference and participated in my first hackathon! Most of all, I learned that I had room in my heart for a kitty. (No, but seriously… I’d always been 100% a dog person up until now.) All in all, some pretty cool things have happened.

Onward to 2018… I’ve recently started a bullet journal and I’ve been using it to not only record tasks I need to do, but also to track habits, plan meals, record memories, and also jot down some notes of gratitude each day. I’ve only been using this bullet journal for a few weeks, but so far it’s been incredibly useful. It’s also a lot of fun to draw out each week’s layout and decorate. I’m hoping I will be able to keep up the momentum and that by the end of 2018, I’ll have an entire book of memories, events, and reflections to look back on.

Some goals for 2018:

  • Become a Jr. Front End Developer 🙂
  • Lose 15lbs
  • Budget better and save more money
  • Meet more people and make more meaningful relationships
  • Convince William to let me adopt 5 more dogs

What about you guys? Any goals for 2018, and any cool organizational tools that you’ve been trying out to help reach those goals?

Making a bullet journal for 2018 sounds like a good idea, I considered doing something similar (and still do!). I hope you reach all of your goals – including the dogs 🙂

Happy New Year, Vicky! Even though there were some ups and downs last year, you still made it to the new year! Glad to hear that you’ve learned how to code and got involved with the industry. Congratulations on participating in your first hackathon!

I’ve been hearing so many great things about bullet journaling. Hope you’ll customize it the way you like it!

Good luck with your goals for the year, especially that promotion :).

Let’s crush that health thingggggg. My goal is to lose 5lbs by June, I think… Hopefully I’ll be able to get into reliably going to the gym every week!
Budgeting and saving money is much easier when you set an actual $$ amount, instead of a generic “I want to save money…” Have you set a goal amount? I set a Goal Amount, Reach Amount, and Super Reach Amount… LOL.
Hopefully I’ll get to at least the Reach Amount, if not the Super Reach Amount!
#100DaysOfSaving and #100DaysOfHealth will hopefully help me with getting started…. :X

And yes. Adopt 5 kids. Screw you William, Hiro (her real husband) said she can!!!!!

That’s too bad about the big downs, but the ups you had all sound great! I’m really glad you were able to go to your first tech conference and hackathon. I hope you’ll be able to do more in the tech space this year!

I hear a lot of good things about having a bullet journal, and yours looks sooooo organized. That’s good to hear that it’s been working out so well for you. Good luck on your 2018 goals! I hope this will be a good year for you!

I love how you focused on the ups though girl! Well done you, you’re going to crush 2018 with your goals if you continue this mindset. I love how you’ve started a gratitude log on your bullet journal, in my old one (I do everything digital now) I had a gratitude log which helped me so much when I felt down 🙂 Good luck with the year ahead – always here support you! You go girl!

Happy New Year! 😀 I wish you all the best in completing your goals for 2018! 😀

2017 sounded like a tech-filled year for you! And yay for getting a kitty! I would get one, but I’m terribly allergic to them 🙁 I hope to get a dog one day!

Good luck with your goals for 2018 and hope it will be a good year!
